Shaheed Benazirabad โ€” The Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) convened a high-level Regional Partnersโ€™ Conference at the HM Khoja Auditorium, bringing together over 250 stakeholders, including institutional and community partners from Shaheed Benazirabad, Sanghar, and Naushehro Feroz districts. The event was chaired by Mr. Gahanwar Ali Laghari, Managing Director, SEF, and formally opened with a welcome note and strategic briefing by the Regional Head (SBA), who shared updates on regional performance, programmatic achievements, and operational priorities. In his keynote address, Mr. Laghari lauded the steadfast dedication of SEFโ€™s partners in driving equitable and inclusive education. He emphasized the urgent need to strengthen infrastructure, elevate academic standards, and foster child-centric, inclusive learning environments across all partner schools. As part of SEFโ€™s commitment to educational expansion, the Managing Director announced that the Foundation has relaxed its school establishment criteria to reach out-of-school children, especially in remote and marginalized communities. He further revealed that over 180 schools have been upgraded, and approval has been granted for the initiation of more than 31 second-shift schools, aimed at expanding access using existing infrastructure. Mr. Laghari also highlighted upcoming operational enhancements, noting that SEF is prioritizing technology integration to enable real-time, transparent monitoring and improve school-level accountability. He assured participants that the timely provision of textbooks remains a top priority to support uninterrupted learning across the province. Importantly, the Managing Director stressed the mutual responsibility of both the Foundation and its partners to uphold the contractual commitments outlined in partnership agreements. โ€œCompliance with the terms of the partnership agreement must be ensured by both parties,โ€ he stated. โ€œMoving forward, SEFโ€™s Program teams will conduct school visits more frequently as this systematic engagement will help significantly improve school performance and accountability.โ€ In his remarks, Mr. Nisar Ahmed Banbhan, Director Programs & Planning, SEF, shed light on the deeper philosophy of learning environments, emphasizing the emotional and psychological well-being of children. โ€œWe can only ignite curiosity and a desire to learn when children are placed in environments that are safe, engaging, and emotionally secure,โ€ he noted. โ€œThe true definition of a school must center around a space where a child feels emotionally connected, confident, and comfortableโ€”where the environment itself becomes a friendly companion in their learning journey.โ€ The conference concluded with an interactive dialogue session and a reaffirmation of SEFโ€™s mission to build a future-oriented, inclusive, and high-performing education system across Sindh, in close collaboration with its dedicated partners.
